About Paul Kent


During his 27-year professional career, Paul spent eight years in the 1980s playing periodically on the European Tour. He qualified to play in three consecutive Opens, finishing 46th at Lytham St Annes, and has set eight course records during his career. He also claimed the Safari Tour Order of Merit and won both the East Anglian Open and the Jack Mulcahy Irish Classic. Kent, aged 45, comes from Bury St Edmunds and trained with Alex Hay as an assistant at Woburn. He has also attended coaching sessions with Bernard Gallacher, Tommy Horton, Bob Torrance, Denis Pugh and John Jacobs. His first spell in the West Country was with former professional Stewart Wright at Sherborne when he became PGA-qualified in 1996. While living in Derby he had an interest in Newark Golf Centre but sold out and moved to Australia for 18 months. He has also won the West Region Cornish Festival.
