BROUSSARD, La.(AP) Argentina's Fabian Gomez won the Louisiana Open for first Nationwide Tour title, closing with a 7-under 64 in windy conditions Sunday for a tournament-record six-stroke victory over three players.

The 31-year-old Gomez finished at 15-under 269 on the Le Triomphe Country Club course and earned $99,000. He joined Miguel Carballo (2007 Panama Movistar Championship) as the only winners from Argentina in tour history.

"It was the best round of my career under the conditions,'' Gomez said through an interpreter. "To win here on the Nationwide Tour gets me one step closer to my goal of reaching the PGA Tour.''

Kyle Reifers (67), Scott Gutschewski (70) and Brian Vranesh (70) tied for second.

With the wind gusting at 25-30 mph, the final-round scoring average was 72.727.

"I don't know where he was playing,'' Gutschewski said about Gomez. "He wasn't playing the same course I was.''

Vranesh was in the group immediately in front of the winner.

"Every time I turned around he was throwing darts in there,'' Vranesh said. "When it's your week to win, that happens.''
