Y.E. Yang Biography
Yang Yong-eun (Y E Yang) was born January 15th 1972 in South Korea. In earning his place in the 2009 Grand Slam, Yang became the first Asian-born male golfer ever to win a Major championship, recovering from a two-shot deficient going into the final round and finally finishing 3 shots ahead of the playing partner, Tiger Woods.
In 2006 Yang won the Korean Open on the Asia Tour, gaining him entry into the HSC Champions Tournament in November 2006. He won the tournament, beating a strong field including Tiger Woods. With this he earned membership of the European Tour and moved to the top 40 of the Official World Rankings.
Yang is currently playing in the PGA tour, having earned his card through qualifying school in 2008. He now has 2 wins to his credit – the 2009 Honda Classic and the 2009 PGA Championship.
