Peter Hanson Biography
Peter Hanson was born in Svedala, Sweden on 4th October 1977. An impressive amateur career was rounded off by winning the Brabazon Trophy at Formby in 1998 and representing Sweden in the Eisenhower Trophy that same year. He turned professional in 1998.
Hanson has played on the Challenge Tour and the European Tour. His professional wins include the 1998 Gunther Hamburg Classics on the Challenge Tour and the 2005 Open de España on the European Tour. He was a member of the Continental Europe team at the 2005 and 2007 Seve Trophy. He has featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings and in 2007 finished in the top twenty of the European Tour Order of Merit for the first time, a feat he repeated in 2008 when he placed 16th. The highlight of his career in 2008 was his victory the SAS Masters, at Arlandastad Golf in Stockholm, the first Swede to win the event in ten years.
