About the Golf Club

The course is made up of 18 holes and covers an area of 5,915 yards in total. Many professionals who have played this challenging course have stated that the first five holes are amongst the hardest opening holes to any golf course they have played.

The jewel in the crown must be the picturesque par 3 16th measuring a total of 181 yards. Other holes of note are the 4th which is a tough driving hole for big hitters and not so big hitters. The 17th is a short par 5 but rarely is its green reached in two, due to the slight dogleg left and the water hazard protecting the small green.

There are a total of seven holes containing water hazards with the par 4 11th having a water hazard running from the tee to the green splitting the fairway in two.

The course was found easily enough, new signing off the main road may have helped with this. The staff were all friendly and we teed off half an hour ahead of schedule on a quiet Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. The course is relatively short, quite flat and still clearly a new course. I think it's been open for about 13 years. The teeing areas and fairways were in good condition, the bunkers are large and well kept (though some maintenance looks to be taking place in a lot of the bunkers). The greens were only average, the grass was long and the roll of the ball inconsistent. Still worth a visit of you are in the area
