About the Golf Club

The New Forest Golf Club is located near the village of Lyndhurst, Hampshire which has a recorded history going back over a thousand years.

The Club itself has been in existence since 1888 when villagers were granted permission from the Commissioners of Woods and Forests to play golf on open heathland. It is a very picturesque course situated in the heart of the New Forest, just off the A35 and a short drive from the M27 and M3.

You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome and a unique opportunity to experience the natural forest course measuring just under 6,000 yards with a par of 69 and some of the most scenic holes in Hampshire.

Booking a Tee time was a pleasure and the good feel factor continued on arrival and throughout the round. The course is open heathland with ponies and small flowers over the fairways, but not a problem. the ponies were roamong free but were niether a distraction nor a hindrance. The long holes were forgiving and parable but the main featureas of the course were the par three holes, which were a real challenge. These greens were narrow, and accurate tee shots were essential. The greens overall were pacey and smooth. Local rules took full account of the ponies, and all of the New Forest regulations. The weather was good and it was one of the most pleasant days of golf I have experienced.
