About the Golf Club

The course was built on land provided by four Liphook landowners in 1922 and has matured into one of the finest heathland courses in southern England. The course offers classic holes aplenty.

The excellent par 4 2nd and 4th are joined by the very attractive 12th and 13th holes crossed by a stream, whilst the undulating approach to the 9th makes it yet another excelletn hole. The quality of the course is matched by the quality of the clubhouse facilitites. Visitors and Society groups are always welcome.

A traditional heathland course which is a superb layout and a pleasure to have played. The course was in great condition and I can recall every hole - it is hard to pick a favourite. It will take a return visit to work out the borrows on some of the excellent greens and the slopes around them but it was great to play a course where, even when you hit the green, two putting is far from straightforward. All the short holes stand out although this is not to detract from the rest of the course. Although not widely known it certainly deserves to be in Golf Monthly's top 50. Like many heathland courses Liphook is trying to encourage the heather to grow by felling some of the trees and this can only benefit the course.
