About the Golf Club
Founded in 1894 Glossop and District Golf Club is one of the oldest in the region. The course climbs towards the notorious Snake Pass and then descends once again to the valley. As a consequence it has been described as a 'vigourous' course, but for the fit it gives rewarding views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors are welcome on every day except Saturdays.

must state it isn't an easy course with quite a few blind holes and sloping fairways. I struggled with the 6th hole, you have to clear a distance of bushes which as a beginner is off putting enough. Then you have a dogleg right up on to the green which is at the top of a steep slope, beware if you dont get it right your ball roles down the hill past where you originaly hit it from
