About the Golf Club

Delamere golf course is considered an inspiring Herbert Fowler layout with many excellent par 4s, especially on the front nine. The back nine, although shorter, is no less interesting with its own complement of interesting holes.

The Clubhouse was built in the early 1900's and reflects the traditional black and white architecture widely found throughout Cheshire.

Since the greens are not watered unless it is absolutely necessary, the course presents a tactical challenge in the summer which requires the tee shots to be positioned to give the correct angle of approach to the greens if good scores are to be achieved.

Visitors are always welcome.

Delamere Forest isn't actually a forest as such, the course is a heath land course with the heather and gorse that you might expect at Sunningdale, combined with the dunes, humps and undulations of a links course. In fact, when the wind got up in the afternoon, it was like playing a seaside links! Very pleasant club with a clubhouse overlooking the course and a nice terrace.
