About the Golf Club

You may be forgiven for thinking that Datchet Golf Course is an easy track. It is 6067 yards long off the medal tees, a par 70, with a standard scratch of 69 and flat.

But for those of us who play it often and who have also played some of its more famous neighbouring courses, we can testify that it’s not a course to be taken for granted.

Nine greens with fifteen tees (3 holes the 1st, 4th and 5th are repeated on the back nine becoming the 10th, 13th and 14th) and running alongside the River Thames, under the watchful eye of Windsor Castle.

Datchet Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The course is always in great condition and although it is a nine hole course, it is deceptively long. The 3rd, 5th, and 8th are all par 4s of 400 yards plus. There are alternate tees for most of the holes to make holes 10-18 have a little extra variety. The three par 3s are challenging, the 2nd/11th, as outlined below, is long and tight to a very small green.
