About the Golf Club

Colne's picturesque course lies between Pendle Hill and the Yorkshire Moors, right on the Lancashire-Yorkshire border. As you might expect, Colne's fairways boast magnificent views over the Lancashire countryside. The club celebrated its centenary in 2001, an achievement of which its members were justifiably proud of.

A pleasant 9 hole course, approached by a winding road and surrounded by scenery that suggests that it could be a tight, hilly course. However, the only climb is a slight rise to the well guarded 9th green. There are a couple of par 4's to challenge anyone that isn't a big hitter, but then also a couple of shorter 4's and one par 5 that offer excellent chances to pick up strokes for any handicap level. The par 3 7th/16th is interesting as it is played from either side of a road that bisects the hole. It demands a good tee shot to a sloping green from either tee. When I last played there about a month ago, the greens were in immaculate condition - pity my putting wasn't!
