About the Golf Club

Cirencester Golf Club offers a traditional, welcoming atmosphere and a picturesque, interesting course. Many of the holes are virtually unchanged from James Braid's original design in 1910 and offer a pleasant panorama over the surrounding countryside.

In 1996, three new holes were incorporated into the layout. These give an interesting finish to the round as well as attractive views across to the picturesque village of Baunton.

The course is built on free-draining limestone and remains playable throughout the year.

This is a real gem of a course to play. Don't be fooled by the hilly appearance from the road, there are only two climbs from tee to green. Not a long course by any means but the short irons had better be spot on because the targets are very small. Greens are good for the time of year (Jan) even now if you get the wrong side of the hole you will be left with a knee trembler on the way back.
