About the Golf Club
An undulating course designed by Harry Colt, densely wooded in parts with spectacular par threes and challenging par fours, Canterbury is an inland jewel.
The second hole is a superb introduction to the golf ahead. Don’t be deceived by this seemingly innocent par three. A prevailing wind suggests a club less but the bank in front swallows short shots. A miss over the back results in a very difficult chip and a certain bogey.
Make sure you look to the left to see where the pin is on 12. You’ll need that later!
The “loop” of 11 and 12 and 13 is one of the prettiest set of holes in the county. Enjoy the woodland walks and swooping undulations and hope that the scorecard is still intact standing on the 14th tee!
Our 80th year has seen changes to the 18th hole. A reshape and reinstatement of the traditional gorse and broom has made the closing hole at Canterbury one of the best.

Very nice course (as you'd expect with a course designed by Harry Colt) especially the woodland holes. Quite hilly in places and several holes have great tee shots over steep valleys which add to the fun and makes distance judgement really tricky. Greens were not the best when I played but this was after some very heavy rain. Must be a fantastic course in the summer.
