About the Golf Club

This is a municipal course that's popular with local golfers, although it won't test you too much. Local kids are to be found here all the time, while those who have just picked up a club for the first time aren't top shy either. There are a number of enjoyable par threes on route and if you are reasonably accurate from 60 to 70-yards in then you have to chance to shoot a career-low score.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find such an attractive and well kept course. I felt that the fairways could have been cut a bit shorter: it was a wet day and there was no run at all. But the greens were fine, and the pin positions made good scoring very difficult. The views from the course were lovely, and the many and varied trees were beginning to look quite magnificent as the colours changed for autumn. It was certainly not a boring course. It would be good if there could be different pars for ladies: some of the holes were too long to be realistic par 4's for us!
