Twitter army respond to Tiger Woods incidents

Divided opinion on latest incident surrounding former world number one

Tiger Woods - at the centre of another ugly incident

Despite a stunning performance and victory for Alvaro Quiros at the Omega Desert Classic this weekend, there is talk of one thing and one thing only – and that is the Tiger Woods spitting episode.
Looking at Twitter and some of the comments on there it is clear to see that there is divided opinion amongst golf fans worldwide over whether he has actually done much wrong.
A lot think his fine from the European Tour for a ‘disgusting act’ isn’t really that big a deal where as others agree that it is right for him to be made a scapegoat.
However, the overriding opinion is that this is just another problem facing the former world number one, another misdemeanour is an ever growing list.
His behaviour both on and off the course is now more of a talking point that than his golf game – which for the record many feel has gone – and he is turning into the Happy Gilmore of professional golf.
It is disappointing to see fans discussing what he’s said or done rather than the glorious golf he was so fondly recognised for previously. Admittedly his game hasn’t been the same since he was faced with the battle of beating his personal problems but he is still capable of rediscovering that form. He is still Tiger Woods after all.
Yes he spat during the round. Yes he swore after a bad shot. But, in the modern day society, is that really so bad? I believe not. But what do you think?
Here are just a few of the tweets from golf fans on this latest incident:
Rich0129 wrote: “When are we going to get the old Tiger Woods back on the golf course?”
Eastlandah wrote: “Things can only be on an upward spiral! From Tiger woods to Berlusconi Lol! Interesting times for greatness.”
MissMonstise wrote: “LEAVE TIGER WOODS ALONE!! If he wasn't the face of money there would be no mention of his transgressions against the golfing community.”
DayNightTrader wrote: “Tiger Woods spitting on the green is more offensive thats just Rank Bad Manners but worse was Tiger refusing to sign kids autographs”
BradWestmar tweeted: “I'm not a golfer, but isn't this commentator right about Tiger? Isn't spitting on the green rather gross?”
