McDowell set for Austrian Open success?

Place your bets - final two days action coming up

It’s that time of the week when I once again give you some amazing tips on where to place your money this weekend, you go to the bookies, follow my expert advice and lose everything! Well I’ll apologise about that in advance.
I am likely to curse whomever I suggest is in with a shot of some success this weekend but it’s my job so here goes. This week’s unlucky golfer is Mr Graeme McDowell.
The Northern Irishman is playing his first competitive competition since taking a few weeks rest following a hectic season that saw him claim the US Open in June. And he is showing great signs of form after the first two rounds at the Austrian Open.
He sits one shot off the leader, George Coetzee, after carding a 69 and 68 in his opening two rounds. I’m going to have £1 on McDowell for the win whilst I’ll also be looking at each way bets on Miguel Angel Jiminez who is on -4 and Pelle Edberg who is tied with McDowell on -7.
That’s the only competition this weekend and you can see coverage on Sky Sports if you wish to follow the action.
However, I’d like to share some great news with you. Lee Westwood came through his first 18-hole fitness test and has said he is delighted with his fitness and the shape of his game after sitting out since August with a calf problem.
This is great news for the European team ahead of the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor on October 1-3.
