'@imaginegolf you say...?'

It's officially OK to like Michelle Wie again.

At 16 she was going to revolutionise women’s golf just like Tiger had done a decade earlier.

And we loved her for it.

Then she signed to Nike for gazillions (that’s the currency Nike deals in, right?), struggled to match her amateur promise and dropped out of tournaments with flaky-sounding injuries.

And we hated her for it.

Now Michelle Wie combines her tour career with studies at Stanford University - she’s not allowed to play on the college team - has found some form and is one of the many LPGA tour pros using Twitter. Anne Szeker at Golf.com isn’t the only one who’s coming round to the nice turn in self-deprecating humour Wie displays in her Tweets. Here’s a sample:-

“so i was thinking...whoever is here this week in springfield should make posters that say "SIGN YOUR SCORECARD!" and wave em to me after 18.”

For those who don’t recall, Wie was disqualified last year for the second time in her short career at Springfield, venue of this weekend’s LPGA State Farm Classic.

Hey, while we’re at it, we might as well mention the fact that ImagineGolf is now tweeting merrily away here. You’re very welcome to follow us, as long as it’s not in a creepy, stalky way…
